1. Battery Compartment & Serial Number

• Serial Number Sticker: Genuine units have a printed sticker inside the battery compartment displaying the S/N (Serial Number) and P/N (Part Number, e.g., R-R0008). Fakes often leave the serial number section completely blank or print generic text without an individual S/N.

   

• Battery Door Interior: The interior side of a genuine battery cover is made of glossy plastic, whereas fake battery covers usually have a dull, matte finish and fit loosely.

   

2. Laser Lens & Front Emission Window

• Lens Glass: On a genuine R400, the small glass covering the laser emitter is curved and slightly tinted/shaded. On fake models, the lens cover is completely flat, clear, and thin—making the internal hole visible.

   

3. Power Switch & Indicators

• Power Switch Feel: The genuine power toggle on the side operates smoothly with a firm click. Fakes have stiff, hard-to-slide switches where the green color badge inside the cutout looks misaligned.

   

• Off Indicator: Genuine units reveal a small red color indicator on the switch track when turned off. Counterfeits frequently miss this red sticker or paint.
